Announcement for the Post-Western Sociology Conference
East Asian Sociology invites Korean sociologists' participants to the 3rd Post-Western Sociology Conference. Post-Western sociology has grown in recognition that European and American-centered sociological theories and research have limitations in understanding and explaining non-Western social realities. However, it has not systematically advanced into sociological discussions that can replace or supplement Western sociological theories yet. East Asia's social changes and historical experiences that have become more significant since the mid-20th century raise essential questions about Western sociological theories and research. Post-Western sociology in East Asia searches for sociological theories based on East Asia's historical experiences and social changes. The 3rd Conference on Post-Western Sociology, organized by the East Asian Sociological Association, will be an excellent opportunity to promote sociological discussion about Post-Western Sociology in East Asia.
